About me

And.. my very own first post! how exciting! :)

Hello everyone! and welcome to DevIngredients.
My name is Catalin Berta, I’m from Romania, born in 1984 and most importantly for you, I’m a web developer. I might be old fashioned but I’d like to start by saying that I am no expert! Like mostly everyone, I’m still learning a lot as I go, however, I do have plenty of years behind where I’ve dealt with various web projects and customers that helped me greatly, I’ll probably post about a few of them at some point.

Now I’ve decided to dedicate some of my time and share a few things that will hopefully help some of you rapidly gain a better understanding of web development’s ups and downs and how you can achieve the goals that clients and web users expect nowadays.

Throughout this blog, I’m going to mainly tackle some HTML, CSS and jQuery best practices and many other easy to learn tips and tricks.
In the meantime, I’ll also maintain a ‘miscellaneous’ page where I’ll be talking about various stuff and post topics that… well, I don’t know where to categorize them.

Who should read this blog? It’s hard to say and probably because I’ll always consider the reader’s skills being to a minimum level, thus, having my explanations in as many details as possible, however, I believe the articles would serve best to beginners and intermediate web developers.

I can be contacted at

I’m looking forward to your feedback ‘and’ your criticism!

And I promise to do my best making my articles fun to go through 😛

Now, let the coding begin!

My name is Cătălin Berța and I'm a front-end web developer. I was born in Focsani, Romania and currently living in Bucharest. Started playing with some good old html tables ever since 2004 as a hobby, turned out to be a full-time career! :) I've had the chances to experience and witness web development's rapid growth over the years where I've mainly focused on front-end web technologies.
